Reliable and Trustworthy London Removals

Moving home is often stressful, but moving in London has its own set of particular, city related worries. The roads are congested with nowhere to park and buildings are often inaccessible making it hard to get your belongings and furniture in and out.

My family and I have recently moved from our old, small flat in Hackney to a fantastic three bedroom house in Islington. Our two children (boy and girl) are of an age where they would benefit from having their own rooms and I would benefit from the shorter journey time to work. So we decided to use the services of a specialist London removals company, and I’m so glad that we did.

We’d initially thought that we’d recruit the help of a handful of friends, hire a van, and do it all ourselves. But then we woke up to the immensity of the task and started to gather some quotations from a few companies.

There are definitely a few ‘cowboy’ firms offering removals in north London. They want you to believe that they have the experience and skill necessary to move your valuable belongings without problems but after meeting some of them face to face I wasn’t instilled with much confidence.

So I asked around for some recommendations and one particular firm came highly recommended. So I gave the recommeded firm a call and their experienced chap paid us a visit to assess what we needed and how much it was likely to cost.

My good lady wife and I were totally impressed. This guy had clearly been in the removals business for a long time and really knew his stuff. He walked around our flat taking note of the bulky items and asking about valuables like my guitars and my wifes paintings and ceramics. He then made a bold estimate of how many boxs we would need for our belongings and gave us an estimate for the move.

The quoted price was a little more than some of the quotes we’d received, but the cheaper estimates had come from companies who had not even bothered to pay us a visit. We decided that the additional expense was probably a good investment and booked the firm to move our stuff.

We collected the cartons from their depot and packed everything up ready for the big day, labelling the boxes as we went. We were astounded to find that the estimate of the number of boxes required was spot on and we only had one spare when everything was packed up.

The following day the removals crew arrived bright and early as agreed. In no tim at all they had their van neatly packed to the gills with our furniture and clearly labelled boxes. This was no simple task as our flat was on the fourth floor and all the furniture had to be man-handled down the stairs.

They quickly transported our belongings across north London to Islington where they needed to block our narrow road in order to unload. Luckily these removal men had managed situations like this before and they had the van emptied and out of the road in no time.

All our valuables including my guitars, my wifes paintings and our children’s precious toys were all transferred to their new home with no breakages, in a matter of hours. We found ourselves in our new house looking for the box containing the kettle by 11:00 a.m. which was remarkable. Using a specialist team of London removal professionals made the whole experience of moving in London not only stress free but actually enjoyable.
